It can feel worrying or even upsetting when your dog stiffens, growls, or guards food, toys, spaces, or people. This behaviour often comes from stress or insecurity, and we focus on helping your dog feel more relaxed and trusting so they no longer feel the need to guard.
Reactivity
Do walks feel stressful or unpredictable? Maybe you tense up when you see another dog or person coming toward you, unsure how your dog will respond. You are not alone, and this can change. We help your dog feel safer and more settled on walks so you can both start to enjoy being out again.

Every behaviour package begins with a comprehensive 60–90 minute consult, where we assess your dog, and create a clear, practical plan. This includes training strategies, management tools, and enrichment to set you both up for success from the start.

From there, we build on progress step by step, supporting you to create safer, calmer, and more predictable behaviour at home and beyond.

A Note on Aggression
Worried about what might be called “aggression” in your dog?
It’s a term many trainers are moving away from, because behaviours like growling, snarling, snapping, or even biting are not about a dog being “bad” or wanting to cause harm. In most cases, these behaviours come from a place of fear, stress, or feeling unsafe.
Dogs use these behaviours as a way of communicating and creating distance from something that worries them. When those early signals are missed or they feel they have no other option, that’s when things can escalate.
The good news is, this can be worked through. By understanding what your dog is feeling and changing how they experience those situations, we can reduce the need for those behaviours and help them feel calmer, safer, and more in control.

It was such a pleasure to meet Sammy and have her work with myself and my boys to help our little 2 yr old dauchund become less reactive. She gave us the skills needed for our walks and helping him with visitors and much more. We had to go away with him just after one of her sessions and she gave us some helpful tips for his anxiety and behaviour whilst he would be by himself at the cabin.
Our little boy has been more confident to walk and not bark at other dogs. He still has some more learning but at least I have the tools from Sammy to help us navigate him. Truely recommend Sammy 100%.
